Well, I didn't actually buy it today, but today I found out what I had bought.
It is a 6'7" "3-weight" fiberglass blank by Aventik. The CCS test told me that it has an ERN of 4.31. That's disappointing. Perhaps after another CCS test, 3 of the 4 sections will make a 5' banty combination rod or just a spinning rod.

Well , I have been using a small 5th wheel for my summer excursions and pulling my Rhino on a trailer behind it . I grew tired of doing this so today I bought a 5th wheel toy hauler . It's not new and has some hail damage but nothing that will hurt it and most importantly I can put the Rhino and all my inflatables in it ! It's fairly light and on level ground at 55 mph I am getting 11mph pulling with my F150 EcoBoost . My lab Bella lgave me the stamp of approval .

That's a good read! (and who doesn't appreciate a good deal on a fart machine? My wife married one, and she's still paying through the nose for it).

The other day I bought a rod one line heavier than allowed here so I wont tell you that it was an 11' med action IM 8 that I'll use for mono rigs with case and sock for $61 . But I can tell you that yesterday I received a new Shu-fly Skip Storch special 9' 3wt med fast action rod and it too came to a total of $61 from that big auction site . It is also IM8 and I really like it with the wiggle test and it's pretty , too . I hope to get past the virus thingy and take it along this summer as well as 20 or 40 other rods that I built and haven't fished yet . Maybe I'll put a for sale sign out when I do a regular campground and get rid of some of them , who knows it may actually work !

I finally bowed to temptation and used some of my tax refund to buy a new 2 7/8" Hardy Perfect reel for 3 and 4 weight lines. I've kicked this idea back and forth for years and finally decided "heck with it, I'm gonna be too old in a few years to enjoy it, so I better act now". Fortunately my wife has no idea how many reels I have or which are new.

Bought a new pair of Simms Freestone boots. And then drilled holes all over the bottom to attach Rock Treads I bought last week. That wasn't as easy as the video showed!!!

$100 worth fly boxes to replace ones stolen in Late March.
Yes I am admitting to sheer stupidity. Note to all even when you think "oh I'll be in the office for 10 minutes, I don't need to lock my car" Within ten minutes I exited the building, and I was minus more than 2/3 of all my flies plus some other gear.
Insurance is a good thing to have when you hope to never use it.

Hey Les, Have you checked with your insurance about your loss? I had a couple of bags, one containing a bunch of fly boxes and the other had 14 reels in it, stolen from the back seat of my pickup parked by my house. Total value over $2000. Called my insurance and was told it would go on my homeowners insurance and the value would have to exceed more than 1% of the value of my home before they were responsible for anything. I gave up at that point.

hey Larry already took care of this and got the settlement check - depreciation totaling $1500 is sitting there waiting for me to buy back some items. Farmers took pretty good care of me on the loss.
