I'm looking for feedback on the Scott G 882 and G2 842. Anybody own these rods? I'm particularly interested in tracking down a G2 842.

Well to answer myself....
I found a G2 842. Hopefully have it in a week or so. Now I need a Abel TR brook trout to go on it.

Sounds like a fun rod. I really like the Scott G, but I've only cast the 5 weight.

I have the newer G Series 8'8" 4 weight....beautiful all around dry fly rod. But I wanted a longer 2 weight for light dries on long light leaders to beaver pond brookies. The 842 never made the transition from the G2 to GS. I wanted something a little longer than the current 772 GS. The G2 I got was actually a custom build on a Scott blank, but never fished. I hope to have it the end of next week.
