Hi there wondered your thoughts on these rods, am new to ultralight fly fishing and am in the process of building an arsenal for the coming season, I have manage to find someone selling SPL’s in
8’1 #1 8’2 #2 8’3 #3
Zxl
8’0 #2
Txl-f
7’10 #2
I plan to buy them all but am paying premium prices so it won’t happen straight away unfortunately, I want a #2 around the 8 foot mark before the start of the season and was wondering what is the one to buy first and general reviews.
Thanks in advance

Kinda hard to answer, what sort of rod action do you like?

In the heavier line weights I use an original 490 LL and SLT 590, I always find it hard to put rods in categories of the action they are. Hopefully this will make my question more clear and look forward to hearing from you’s.
Thanks

I would vote for the SPL. I have an SPL 080. By far my favorite rod. Love the smooth action.
Good luck in your quest.

Can you tell us about the areas you fish and the kind of fish you target? I don't have an input on the rods but am curious. Thanks
