I was just thinking that we needed one of these threads here! Thanks for starting it & nice ties! Rubber-legged Dragons & Bluegill Killers have been coming off my vice recently.

Nice flies, I like the legs. Do you think they make a difference in bite rate compared to a regular wooly bugger?

Tried my hand at some Cream Variant dries this morning. They still need some work, but I think they'll fish. Hoping to put them to use when I visit NY in a few weeks.

Looks nice. Isn't the hackle a bit too long for that hook size? Or is that a feature of that pattern?

The pattern actually calls for one hackle size up from the hook size, but I think I may have overshot that by a bit. I tied from size 18 to size 12. The one pictured is a #16. I was largely unfamiliar with this pattern, but tied a few at the recommendation of my cousin. It is apparently a favorite of his for the brooks and browns on one of the streams we'll be shipping during my visit. Chris

I see. I guess with the longer tail and larger hackles it will ride higher on the water so the hook is essentially out of the water?

Some dry flies (should have been parachute Adams but didn't have right size brown hackle so it only became a grey/grizzly dry fly:) And some emergers. Was supposed to be that one https://youtu.be/ZgtBenDiw2MBut had to use some different materials and added a bit of red for sighting help. foto online service
