This is a quick, easy-to-tie fly that has produced a lot of fish over the years. I fish it under a strike indicator. Retrieve cadence is strip, strip, pause. Strips are an inch or two and quick. The trick is to be able to interpret what you're strike indicator is doing.

Material List: Hook: Daiichi 1560 No. 10
Thread: Fine mono
Tail: Pheasant
Body: Tan or natural Davey Wotton's Bug Dub Twist
Head: 5/32 gold bead
Tying Instructions: 1. Put bead on hook and put hook in vise
2. Attach thread and tie in pheasant tail at the bend
3. Attack dubbing brush, wind forward, tie off and whip finish.

SteveP,
That's a great looking fly- I bet it would work well on cold water species too.
