Although my fly rods are still languishing in basement storage, at least my U/L ice rods are getting a workout.

Ice is still 42" thick but you can tell its getting darker, a good sign. The perch were cooperating and their reward will be a nice hot fry pan. Caught about 50 over two days with the biggest being about 13.5".

Happy eating, they look a nice size. Too cold for me.

Harry,
Although I sometime feel pretty beaten down by the summer heat here in southern Oklahoma, a picture like the one you just posted makes me really glad to be an Okie. The older I get, the less I can tolerate cold weather.

Like the photos, looks comfortable. The thought of eating those Yellow Perch caught in cold water....must be delicious.

It was a gorgeous day and actually a bit warmer than I would have liked. I was sweating with that pile sweater under the afternoon sun. A fun day but nothing compared to my winters in the Texas hill country.

I'll be over in a few for the fish fry. I'll bring the Pabst!

Hey Strummer, we waited but you must have missed the turnoff to I-29.

I had thought I liked crappie more than perch but a revision is in order.
