Yes, it's been done before. And I was positive they were too fragile. I was right.

They were all I brought with me. There was a bass that sent the hook into my hand as I grabbed the leader to land it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the gator coming towards me.

Got fish?

I can't help but wonder what might have happened if that fish hadn't thrown the hook. I would have been in the middle of picture taking... I typically leave fish in the water when I unhook them, but not gator territory. Sure, there are sharks in the salt, but, they can't chase you on dry land. I've seen pics of gators climbing fences (for reals! Google it!)!!!!

It wasn't at all interested in the limpkin that took my place on the bank.
