Man, I was ready to fish the beach. Red tide limited me to one trip last year. I walked out of work to a partly cloudy sky. So promising. Radar would reveal otherwise. Storms lingered just offshore, quickly moving towards us, pushed along by westerly winds.
Dagnabbit.
The canal was loaded with gar. Went two for a hundred. A rather large gator took notice, so it was time to hit the retention pond.
Nature was putting on a show. So much activity
There was this guy. Loads of fun on a 2. Hit just I was leaving.
Went over to the cichlid spot. Gar everywhere. Went 0 for 50. This guy appeared. Took a fly that almost hit him on the head. Dumb fish RULE!
Jumped a little tarpon. Fight lasted a whole 15 seconds before it went airborne and spit the hook.
Winds are supposed to turn around soon. Soon.
