My employer decided to try a partial shutdown for the 3rd and the 4th. I was asked if I wanted to take those days off. I reluctantly said okay. Taking those two days off would mean having the entire week off. That thought was distressing. I mean, what would I do with a whole week to myself?

Monday
Gotta have some music for the week. This had just arrived. Oongow is a surf rock band from Cleveland, Ohio. "Recorded in a basement with no professionalism whatsoever", is how the bassist described it to me. The cassette came with a digital download code. I'm not sure if it's for sale, but, if you ever find yourself on Bandcamp, look into it. Pretty good stuff. Also, picked up the Wingtones, which was Oongow's bassist's first surf rock band. Super good stuff.

Oh, and I picked this up off ebay. Not sure if it's legit. I had previously ordered a 5 from the same guy, and it came in the same package. Casts well, so I'm not really too concerned.

Tuesday
The line has a little mojo. Only fish landed. I'll take it.

Wednesday

I wanted to check the conditions of the beach. On the way, I stopped and fished a little pond. Only fish caught. Not much coloration on this guy! The beach wasn't fishable.

Thursday
Thursday was a good day. The trip only lasted an hour and a half. But there were 4 bluegill

A rare summer time crappie

And bass... Lost three other fish.

Friday
There was a little gar, and nothing else. This was in the same spot as the day before. It's amazing what a difference a day makes!

Strummer, you have my sympathy for being forced to take most of the week off, but it's good to know that you came up with a clear 3-weight line and that it's working out for you.

Nice Bass, I should be out, went bass fishing once this year only. Mosquitoes ate me alive, so many in fact that I had dragonflies circling around me.
