My annual daddy-daughter flypacking trip. This time to the wild trout designated south section of the East Fork of the Carson River. For those who haven't seen previous years flypacking trips, my daughter and I hike/wade up the rivers in full packs fishing as we go. We camp each night where ever we end up and resume the next day.

Carson Iceberg Wilderness in California, about 25 miles southwest of Lake Tahoe

Excellent post, thanks for the memories. The Sierra is the one thing I miss most since leaving California and moving to Michigan. People here think that Michigan has mountains...lololololololol

Of course Michigan doesn’t have real mountains. The closest thing to them is the Porcupines.

That was an enviable trip on the East Fork of the Carson River, and it must be a pretty good trick to do all that wading and fishing while hauling a full pack.

Hi,
I read your East Carson river post that you did with your daughter. Excellent! I want to do the same trip with my son in law but not sure where you started from? Would it be possible to let me know the trailhead location or the full route you took? I have fished the Carson past Markleeville and Heenan Lake before but want to go further. Thanks!
