Ran the AC in my car this afternoon. I'm heading out for a quick trip tomorrow morning. I'd say "nah nah", but I've only landed one ten inch bass in the last 3, maybe 4 trips...
Other than that, I really don't have anything to contribute to this thread. Sorry.

Yeah, but at least you get to stand near water with reasonable expectations! The only time that happens for me right now is when I head to the bathroom. brent

Crappies don't fight very good and they don't taste all that great either . I grew up in the Midwest catching them and I'd rather have a Gil any day .

I posted this one before I think, but it's a nice pike on a TXL #000wt. If you look that user's other videos on YouTube there are many videos of him catching nice fish of a bunch of species on that rod. https://youtu.be/eTbv-jBL6Mg

I screwed up my cast, line fell in a pile at my feet, most of the leader managed to make it off the end of the dock. By the time I got it all untangled there was a crappie on there. So, they aren't all bad.

The great thing about ul is that most fish are fun. I'm from Europe so no crappies here but we have fish like rudd here that take dry fly in the summer.
I caught like a 6 inch one this year and a perch then tried to eat the rudd. Put on a streamer then and caught a couple perch on the 3 wt which was pretty fun.
Unfortunately not a lot of trout waters here unless I drive 50+ miles but I'm happy about any fish.

Ron, I never know what to think of crappie. Around here most people think they are among the best tasting fresh water fish. When I used to fish for them with conventional tackle I also thought they were wimps and lazy fish. However, one cool fall day when my daughter was in high school I went fishing with her boyfriend. While he was getting rigged up, I had already caught 3 or 4 bass that didn't put up a big fight in the cool water. A few minutes later I really had my hands full trying to pull in the next fish. It had my rod doubled over and was darting all over the place. Imagine my surprise when I pulled out a crappie, and not a big one at that. I've only caught a few on flies. Last summer I was fishing a pond where I had previously caught a lot of bass. I hooked two crappie instead which put up quite a fight on my 6 weight. One even leaped out of the water and shook my fly loose. Apparently there are at least a few crappie out there on either steroids or meth. Larry
