Chrismas Eve: The infamous Tamiami Trail in Naples. Fished with a 6, so it doesn't qualify. Wouldn't matter. Short tirp. No fish. Beautiful Day.


Christmas Day: Another short, spontaneous trip with family. What better way to spend it. No fish.


This took a few minutes to untangle. Thanks, Santa.


Sometime in the new year: Trip to the same canal we fished on Christmas. I heard bluegill like orange. I lost this fly to the trees across the way before it could trick a fish.


The vegetation makes some of the spots a little tough to land a fish with a 6'6" two weight.


Of course, this is where I hook up. A gar. I have a net. But the net's in the car, and the car is over there.


So the first fish of the year isn't documented. I head up into the park. Even though the fishing is slow, its a nice day, and I have all of it to kill. Why not?


There were fish up there. Small, but, it doesn't matter.




And then there was a turtle that came out of nowhere. Scared the crap out of me.


And, of course this happened. Twice. I liked it. Both times.

Nice day for sure . I walked by my rods and touched a couple of them , does that count ? lol
