Tried my 2wt. out this morning at the little park impoundment near my away from home terminal lodging. Caught all sorts of Green Sunfish and one Mexican Tetra. These fish went wjild over a size 16 sabiki fly, think bright yellow maribou, silver mylar from a rice crispy treat package and black thread. None of these fish were larger than five inches, but they were fun to catch out of the clear water. My co-workers roll their eyes at me when I fish this body of water account they think nothing worth catching hides in that pool, but I see it as simple enjoyment to get out of the hotel room with the bonus benefit of staying in practice. And yes, that sabiki fly looks worse for the wear, so it will be time to create a few more, but first i need some rice crispy treat packaging, tough duty (snicker and giggle).

Does it have to be rice crispy packaging? Can I substitute Twix? I think that's silver in the inside...

Maybe . I once loaded 20 ga shells that wads were too short so I packed them with cheerios . Worked good but made my team mates hungry !

Could honey nut or multigrain be used or do they have to be regular?

Seems there has been a serious concern as to what mylar packaging to use with tying a sabiki fly. Now I will quickly admit that frosted blueberry pop-tart, bacon crunchy dog treat and even a (gasp) Frito bag were all carefully inspected before being rejected for various assorted reasons. My own deeply personal question was should I be overly daring and step into hostile uncharted territory, or stay the known path of tried and proven. On this weighty matter I stayed with tried and proven, the daunting obstacles of going into the blind unknown appeared to be too great for this fainting daredevil. There is now a golden opportunity for a true trail blazer to step forward and boldly explore those murky mylar jungles. Should you survive, please send reports back of your wild progress into this blank spot on the map.

Special K With Strawberries would work the best because the fish would really love the strawberry flavor.
