Aren't many better ways to start the day! A 2 weight and a woolly bugger, as the pileated woodpeckers tap away.
Ten minutes in, and... Snag.
Twenty five years into this game and my heart still skips a beat when I hook into ANOTHER BRANCH
I found this on YouTube last night. If you look closely, you'll notice it's major design flaw. Even the tier mentions short strikes.
And it happens. Three consecutive short strikes. I switch back to a bugger.
Struck me twice, drawing blood each time.
This little guy was a welcome surprise.
Got to work on the worm pattern. A 3366 was used in place of the articulated shank at the end of the tail. In place of the 12# Maxima used to create the body, I opted for 30# spider wire. It's a little more wiggly. And a bead in place of the bead chain eyes. Took it to the canal and it was broken off by a nice bass with ten minutes.
If you need me tomorrow, you know where I'll be.
