I got my stuff together yesterday afternoon and tried my luck at the bluegills! It was overcast with light rain, temp was 57 degrees and had been warm the last couple of days. Yesterday I used the Cabela’s PT 3 weight 9 foot rod with 9 foot 4X leader and one of my tied size 12 baby wooly bugger in brown. This stick has a new line on it that I p/u from cabelas bargain cave which worked really well. My casting/timing was off because I haven’t used this rod in awhile, but did okay. I did managed to land two crappie and about six gills to bring in the New Year! The fish were quite active yesterday and I missed a lot of strikes. A really good couple of hours on the water.

Enjoy and Be Safe!

Dang, man! I just checked the weather in Delaware and it's still kinda warm. Indiana took a big frigid dive yesterday and shut me out on fishin' plans for the New Year quest.

Nice fish and good on ya for seizing the opportunity, this is the only thing warming my spirits right now. Looks like Delaware weather is about to chill nasty just like Indiana did, but you did get an extra day to welcome 2022 in properly with some fine catches on the fly. :applause
