I can't make a recommendation but I make mine pretty simple. I buy material on sale and some hem glue that comes in the packages resembling tape. I use my wife's iron and ironing board. I cut the material about 8 inches, lay the glue between the open side and apply heat; also glueing one end. I then pull the resulting "sock " through itself so the outside of the material is on the outside. Then I separate the partitions by simply putting small 4 inch pieces of glue tape and heating them at the right location. I only separate the top as I only make two piece socks. You can make a sock for less than a buck-p-

Pearow,
Thanks for the info on how to build your own rod sock. I am donating a rod to a none-profit for an upcoming auction and would really like to have a pro make this sack. Hopefully this will enhance the presentation for the auction.
Thanks again.

Pearow, thanks for the post. I've been needing a sock to replace the one that comes with the 3 piece 3 Forks Three wt. I'm giving that a try.

Laguna Lake: If you live near a high school, and that school still offers 'home economics' classes (they might be called fashion arts or fashion industry), one of the teachers could probably direct you to a better student who could whip one up for you in an evening. With a little luck, once you explain the generous nature of your gesture, the instructor might just take on the task for you. ( I know this cause I married one 44 years ago). brent
