Is any reason i cant use Japanese silk on my Sage rod build,rather than use the contrasting color as they usually do on the Bass II rods Im thinking of using the vanishing silk in the same green color as the blank. Any thoughts??

Good idea.
It gives a nice look, especially on the ferrule wraps where it just disappears.
