 Post subject: rewrapping tip top.?

I want to redo the wrap on a tip on one of my rods. What is the best way to remove the thread? since it's the tip I'm nervous about knicking the thin diameter of the blank towards the tip..

I've done it a few times, used a razor blade and I was very careful. Remove small amounts of wrap finish at a time until you get down to the thread. Then lightly nick the thread with the blade until it comes undone.
