New member here. I go by Knotty, a trail name given to me while backpacking. I'm from northern New Jersey but also fish in northeast Pennsylvania (Poconos).
Took up fishing in spring of 2014 when bad joints made backpacking too difficult. Started with Japanese tenkara but quickly acquired spin and bait casting gear as well. Next came a Wild Water 9' 5/6 wt fly rod and then a TFO 6' UL spin/fly rod which I outfitted with a L.L. Bean Pocket Water reel and 3wt. line.
Found myself gravitating towards fly fishing 90% of the time and usually UL at that, so I just got an Echo Solo 7'6" 3wt since I figured it would perform better than a spin/fly.
I fish anytime, anyway I can. Streams and lakes. Boat and bank. Wade and kayak. Can't get enough.

Hey Knotty Welcome to the forum. I'm in Stroudsburg so the next time you plan on fishing the Poconos drop me a line.

Welcome to the forum Knotty. Too bad you didn't see the light while you were still backpacking but better late than never I guess.
