I've been a fly fisher for 20 plus years and have used a St.Croix Avid 7'6" #2 for the past 10 years finding it a joy to cast as well as being highly functional. The majority of my fishing days are in Southeast MN on the Driftless Area spring creeks but I have put in some fine days in WI and IA. Tying my own flies and leaders has been part of my fishing from near the start. I also belong to a fly tying group that is in the MPLS west metro. The ULF site was discovered while looking around the internet for information on buying or building a lighter fly rod. The information I have found on this site has been more useful than what I've seen anywhere else. Hopefully, I will be a useful contributing member as well as a consumer of the fishing knowledge that I have seen posted. Thanks for being here!

Welcome
I spent last summer exploring the Driftless Area around Prairie du Chien. Loved it. Easy to find spots and only saw people fish 2X out of 25 or so trips.
Just moved down to MO, but looking to head back with my UL rods again.

Welcome! I was up near Viroqua last week with my 6'6" 2 weight, having a blast with 12" browns and much smaller brookies!
