Welcome and congratulations on your forthcoming TFO Professional 8' 2 weight. As I have had one for 10 years now it is my go to UL fly rod. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. If you can pictures of your scenery and fish would be appreciated.

Kinda seems like a step down in rods, unless the length is the concern

Welcome, bet your spelling is better than mine....no worries. I'd like to know more about your carp fishing. Do you sight fish for them or blind cast?

The current rod is handmade.. but the other side of it is that this rod has a really soft action. Too soft for me. It's almost always windy overhere and i just can't get the line out propperly.. the tfo is stiffer and i can buy a new rod which has guarenty for the price i sell my other one. I'll be saving money to once have an other cts built butt then it will be on a stiffer blank, and maybe in a #1

If i can spot one or more i try to cast in frint of it and let the fly just sink by it's nose. I use egg patterns or squirmy worm flies for this. The carp in america are more agressive then our ones. Overhere they won't chace a fly. But i don't fish ul for them.. i use an #8
