Hello there

Started fly fishing about 10 years ago and with heavier rods but through the years made a descent into building and fishing UL rods.

Most times I'm fishing with a 8' CTS MX #0 rod in combination with a Danielsson Midge reel. However love to switch to my CTS quartz 7' #3.

At the moment I'm waiting for a 8' #2 CTS Quartz blank to arrive for my next winter build.

I understand your yellow perch get much larger than ours. It sounds like you're not lacking for fishing options.

Perch (Perca fluviatilis) around here can get upto 60 cm. However these are extremely rare due to extensive fishing with standing rigging.

I feel lucky when catching a perch from 35 -40 cm.

Welcome! I was wondering whether those European perch are a species similiar to the yellow perch in North America. Yes, the largest specimens are indeed larger than yellow perch, although they grow up to at least 16 inches long. To keep it in perspective, 30 cm is equivalent to 12 inches. I'm also curious regarding those longish CTS blanks. Do they run true to the stated line weight ratings?

My CTS MX #1 is more like a #1/2. You can throw a WF/DT #1 with it but I use a Barrio Smallstream WF #2 on it.

Best Regards,

John
