In June my girlfriend and me went to Tirol/Austria for some camping, climbing and fishing in the mountains with our VW camping bus.
After the first day of filming, we were super tired and had quite a steep and dangerous ascent in front of us to get to a path - there would have been a long and easy way too...
Anyway, there was this last pool, camera equipment etc all packed up for the ascent:

"That was a rise, I´ll give it a shot"
"Should I take out the camera again?"
"Na, not worth it"

Well, my gf estimated it at 18", I at 17", so it was probably over 8". A really big fish for that water...

After that we visited a friend in Innsbruck for a day and wanted to go climbing to the Zillertal. But the weatherforecast was bad so we decided to go home. We had to go through Bavaria. That day over 80 people got hurt there at a public event because of hail. It was a heavy thunderstorm, trees, stones and mud were on the streets. Most people did the right thing, they looked for shelter for their cars. We had such fun driving and listening to that song in permanent loop. I used it of the video. The VW didn´t have a scratch.

Enjoy :)

Very enjoyable video! Always nice to see a flyfishing video that doesn't use Vivaldi's concertos or some John Denver for the sound track. the highlight for me was watching you cross a wet, mossy log with wet sneakers. If that had been me, it would have ended up with either a swim or a nut-crushing straddle.

Thanks!

you mean those videos that have a timelapse of clouds and slowmotion of someone walking! :lol

The log crossing went well this time ( I just can´t withstand, even if it´s not necessary), just a week ago it didn´t...

Now, if you could just add in a confrontation with Margaret Lanterman (aka LogLady), your webname would make so much more sense. :lol

Very enjoyable, Laura! I couldn't tell if you're spey casting or simply keeping your left hand close to the reel. I know that it is rare that I keep my left hand close to my right when I'm casting. Maybe that's one reason why my casts look so bad. You're doing it the way we're all supposed to.

Hey Brent, John Denver is my favorite singer, don't diss him!!! >:

I simply keep my left hand next to the reel. I do that because I basically always doublehaul, even if it´s just a little. Also and especially when I make singlehandspeycasts. Those little double hauls(in case of that video with little line out) are great to finetune a cast i.e. to repair a ****** up cast in realtime if that makes sense.
And they are most effective when you start them them like this.

haha John Denver rocks! :-D
