I can't seem to find any of my more recent stuff. This *was* a favorite combo of mine. I bought that rod ~20 ish years ago. WW Grigg made private label "North X Northwest" 8' 3 weight IM6 graphite. Ross FlyWater reel. I loved that rod. Then I didn't case it one day, and set it in the trunk of the car. You can guess what happened. WW Grigg was out of business at that point, there was no replacing or fixing it.
Here's one that may have been seen on here years ago too, a rod that I want to build a duplicate of - this was one I wrapped up myself and turned the grip & reel seat for - I build it on a Pac Bay Traditions II 6' IM6 blank, it's a 2 weight. The sliding bands I got from a guy on eBay who made them himself. Kind of thin, I think were I to do it again, I'd give a go of making my own from larger diameter brass tubing.
Pictured here with the first "nice" reel I ever bought myself, an Orvis Rocky Mountain - the original standard arbor version casette reel made for Orvis by STH.
