Caught this on my 2wt yesterday. I assume its some type of carp or koi, but I'm not sure exactly what. For a minute I thought it may be a type of goldfish, but it has the suction mouth. Anyone recognize it?

I found out that its a butterfly mirror koi. Caught on 7# tippet. Took me about 10 mins. Pond was small and shallow, not very far for him to run.

So, what did you use for a fly? Do they always look like they've just been through a wood chipper? brent

a beautiful fish and a fine catch, but please do not leave a fish on the ground, it's quite bad for them...

I try not too, but this was too big and slimy to get a picture of or unhook without resting it on the ground. It was soft grass, and the fish was feeding again like normal shortly after release.
