what is the make of fly reel in the rod building main page picture? :)

Hi Kestutis,
What you see is a smaller English made JW Young Condex reel in black or Allcock's Gilmour - also made by Young either in late 1950's to early 1960's. Keep in mind these reels are great for some UL glass in 7 foot range, but run HEAVY. So if your goal is to create tip heavy swing weight, this would not be the way to go.

That one photographed by Doug Hollen is a pretty neat set up with the bone insert and trimmings.

I am probably wrong but I thought that was a Sage 3100 or 3200! It looks very similar to the Sages.

Look at rod building section again -that's not a Sage- modern reels don't feature screws for keeping spools to the spindle- that's 1950's technology.
As for the Sage you're probably referring to the main masthead photo in the sunset. You're probably on target for that one.
