I fish in lots of areas with zero cell coverage, and my fishing buddies and I are getting to the point where, while we enjoy fishing alone, its a good idea to stay in contact with each other throughout the day. I have a pair of low end 15 year old Midlands that have given up the ghost, and I'd like suggestions for replacements. These had an estimated 16 km range (maybe in Wyoming) and they do seem to manage about 4 km on a lake without too many islands, but for practical purposes, in my landscape of deep forest and deeper valleys, about 1-2 km. (lets say a mile). I'd love to get a bit more range than that. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks brent
