Darn, Was it the older brown glass model? If I can sell off a few of my other rods 6,7 and 8wts, graphites and one 7ft 5wt boo rod, I may just pull the trigger on a new s-glass Fibertouch 703.

darn indeed! Yes it was. $200.00!
I am selling lots of things as well. Hopefully I will finally get it all to where I want it, but does that ever really happen?
Paul

I will post pics soon. I have another little 5'6" 2wt with a mortised handle I will also take pictures of. I just finished a 4 wt Quad with a Mortised Handle and will probably post pics of that one first because it is done. I am also planning a 1 wt- and have never done that before so it will be an adventure.

My two favorites are my Dave Lewis glass rod, three piece, fishes beautifully in the mountains on tiny brookie streams with either a DT3 or WF4. The other one, and I just got it about a month or so ago and haven't had it on the water yet, is a ONE piece 7'6" Lamiglas glass rod made by Rich Margiotta, and boy it is sweet with a DT 3. A nice bluegill would bend the tip into the hook keeper on it

A premium 3 wt? Try the Orvis Superfine 6 1/2'. I just bought one and it is a dream! I have half a dozen other 3 wts. and I think I like this the best.

PSF, welcome! Orvis rods are great (I am too broke to afford any of their UL rods), and I would have one if the prices hadn't gone through the roof!

I don't know what Orvis is thinking. They increased the cost of their Superfines by about $100 in the last few days of December, mid way through their free reel promotion! I was on my way to the trout stream, and stopped in the Orvis shop to look at the rods. I bought the Superfine on a whim (it's a sickness of mine) and was shocked to see it had gone up $105 the next day!

I put a couple pictures of my bamboo rods in my gallery. Not sure how to post pics. Tight lines.

I own a number of rods but what I'd call premium are some older Sage and Thomas & Thomas rods; Sage SPL, SP, XP and T&T Horizon. I really like all these rods and try to avoid testing the newer models as I know I'd want one. :) I believe all these models came in a 3-wt. If I had to choose one from this bunch in a 3wt it would be the Sage Xp as it suits my style of casting and has a little backbone.
