Looking at a promotional cheap retractable pen that no longer writes and I started to wonder if it could be converted to something useful. Taken apart, the ink cartridge was replaced with a section of plastic tubing. Although Plastruct and Evergreen both produce styrene in a wide selection of shapes and sizes, a piece of scrap plastic from the sprue of a model kit would also work. Part of the "clicking" mechanism was used to hold the spring in place, then a short section of flat brass wire was folded over on itself to form a small loop at the end of a stem. The wire was glued into the end of the plastic tube and the pen was reassembled. No measurements are given account the wide variance of pen sizes and internal clearances, this was strictly a rough estimate project that turned out well.

Posting a photo was beyond my comprehension, sat and played with my tablet and never did figure out how to complete the task. Any hints on how to post a photo?

You need a hosting service like photobucket or another. My photobucket account is no longer free so I'm in need of another

Postimage is free. https://postimages.org/.
I have some images up there, haven't posted pictures in a while but let's give it a try.
Uploading as I recall is not as difficult as getting a picture to the forum.
Once the image is uploaded, select "share" and then copy the url next to "Thumbnail for forums:". On the right click on the copy icon.
Paste here.

As we can see, that worked. There are others that are better at this. Knotty is really good.
One thing that might help. You are not copying and pasting a photo, but the link to the photo. So, that is what you copy and paste, a link, and that is what you will see. Then after you submit the post and go back in to your post you will see the photo.
This should get you started. If you have any problems let us know. Looking forward to your photo(s).
