I found this recently and I'm making one today.. I don't have access to a saw or router so I bought a strip of 1/2" x 1" strip and i'm glueing it instead of cutting out a channel.. I may make another thats wider for larger width brushes.

That makes a nice brush table Mark, thanks for posting the link. I built one much smaller, but plan to make another based on the video. I modified an old cheap Zebco 202 spin cast reel to make my twister. Took the spool and some of the guts off
and epoxied a cup holder to the spool spindle. It's mounted to the board so the cup holder is in line with the slot in the board. So when I'm ready to twist, I just turn the reel like you're winding in line. Works pretty good. Orvis used to sell one with an electric winder for about $75 that I'd patterned this one after.

What do you use those for? Any video or step by step that use it in a pattern?

I've never even doubled thread to twist a dubbing noodle, just wax a thread and spin dubbing around it.

I meant to add a photo of the twister but didn't: Here it is, pretty crude.

Twist up some Ice dub; it makes a great leech body.

You can also split the tying thread and insert some materials. I remember the tightlinevideo had a Griffith's gnat tied this way. I think they used snowshoe rabbit instead of dry hackle.
