Hi guys, I was tying yesterday an took some pictures that I can share with you. Beware that upclose pictures are not as good as I wish they are...

This pattern is a midge emerger, you need just your preferred color 8/0 thread, small silver or gold wire for ribbing and some z-lone or antron for the emerging wings. As you can see is a variation on the zebra midge.

For the hook you can use sizes from 18 to whatever you are comfort with, in this case I use a Dairiki 135 in size 20, you can also use TMC 2487 or similar

Place the hook on your tying vice

Cover the hook with your thread

Tie in the fine wire

Rib it foward

Add the emerging wings

Whip finish :)

Midges are awesome. They are fast and easy to tie, even really tiny ones, like #26s. All it takes is a handful of materials and some imagination. The really cool thing about midges, is they catch fish. A midge, pupae, emerger or adult must taste like bacon to a fish.

Nice job on the tie.

Kind of like a flashy RS2. Those must be real trout candy in the winter.
